Open a photo and every face in it is found and hidden before you touch a control. The detector runs inside your browser, marks each face with a box, and the box is covered with a soft blur by default; switch to a mosaic for the pixelated look, an emoji for a playful cover, or a solid colour for a plain redaction. Strength sets how heavy the blur or how large the mosaic blocks are, scaled to the face so a small face in the background is hidden as thoroughly as a large one in front, and Cover area grows every box to take in hair, ears and glasses. The download is rendered at the photo's full resolution, so a face hidden on screen is hidden in the saved file at any zoom.
No detector finds every face: turned heads, sunglasses, masks, faces at the edge of a group shot or very small ones can be missed, and a poster or a reflection can be found by mistake. Every box here is yours to correct. Tap a box to select it and drag it to move it, pull any of its four corner handles to resize it, or tap the red cross beside it to remove it; drag on the photo to add a box over a face the detector skipped, or anything else - a name badge, a licence plate, a screen. Detect again re-runs the detector after you have changed the photo.
Blur - the blurry face filter everyone recognises - softens the face into an unrecognisable smudge with a soft edge that blends into the picture, the choice for news photos, listings and social posts where the person should stay a person. Mosaic replaces the face with large blocks, the classic censor look and the hardest to undo. Emoji drops a smiley, sunglasses, a cat or a heart over the face, drawn in your device's own emoji style, for family photos of children and light-hearted posts. Colour paints an oval in black, white, grey, yellow or any colour you pick, the redaction style for documents and evidence.
Face detection is the part people worry about, so it happens entirely on your device: the detector model is a small file served from this site, loaded once by your browser, and the photo is never sent anywhere - not to us and not to any AI service. There is no account, no watermark and no file size limit beyond your own memory; the result saves as PNG, JPG or WebP. To anonymise (or anonymize) a whole set of photos, open them one after another - the settings stay. For blurring an area that is not a face, the Blur Image tool has the same drag-a-box workflow without the detector, and the Pixelate Image tool does the mosaic on any region.

Yes. A face detector runs in your browser when the photo opens and places a box on every face it finds. The status line says how many, and the details card reports the detector's timing and lowest confidence.
Yes. Choose Emoji in the Hide with row and pick one; it is drawn over every face at the size of the box, in your device's emoji style. Cover area makes it larger or smaller.
Drag a box over the missed face on the photo; tap a wrong box and press the cross to remove it. Boxes can also be moved and resized, so a partly covered face can be fixed by hand.
Yes. The effect is applied to the original file when you download, so the saved image has the photo's full pixel size with the faces hidden at that size.
