PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, ideal for logos, screenshots and graphics with sharp edges. JPG is the classic photo format: small files, universal support, no transparency. WebP compresses photos harder than JPG at the same quality and still supports transparency, which makes it the go-to for websites. AVIF squeezes even smaller than WebP in browsers that can write it. GIF reduces the image to 256 colors, still wanted for forums and old systems. BMP is the uncompressed Windows bitmap and TIFF the uncompressed print-workflow classic that some software insists on. ICO is the favicon format, built properly at any standard size, and PDF wraps your image as a one-page document - handy for forms and printing.
When you pick JPG, WebP or AVIF, a quality slider appears. Lower quality means smaller files with more compression artifacts; higher keeps the picture cleaner at a bigger size. The size line updates as you let go of the slider, so finding the sweet spot between file size and fidelity takes a few seconds. PNG, BMP and ICO ignore the slider because they are not quality-based formats. If small files are your main goal, the image compressor offers target-size compression too.
Choosing ICO reveals an icon-size picker with the standard favicon sizes from 16 x 16 up to 256 x 256. The converter fits your image into the square, keeps transparency, and writes a real ICO file that browsers and Windows accept. For most websites, 32 x 32 is the safe default; use 48 x 48 or larger if the icon also serves as an app shortcut.

No upload, no signup, no watermark, and the output keeps your image's full pixel dimensions (except ICO, which is sized to the icon square you choose). Transparent areas are preserved in PNG, WebP and ICO, and composited onto white for JPG and BMP, which cannot store transparency.

Converting to PNG or BMP is lossless - every pixel is kept exactly. JPG, WebP, AVIF and PDF are lossy, and the quality slider controls how much compression they apply; at quality 90 the difference is invisible for most photos.
