A blur frame puts the whole photo inside a frame of another shape and fills the empty bars with the photo's own colours, blurred and enlarged, so a landscape becomes a 9:16 story and a portrait becomes a square post without cutting anything off. Pick a photo and choose the Frame shape - Square 1:1, Portrait 4:5, Story 9:16, Wide 16:9, Classic 4:3, Photo 3:2, or Same as the photo for a blurred border all round. The photo stays at its own pixels in the middle of the frame; Photo size sets how much of the frame it fills, and the bars around it are the blurred background. People call the result a blurry frame, blur bars or blur borders; this generator makes all of them, horizontal or vertical. The download is the full-size sheet with the photo unscaled inside it, and none of it leaves your device.
The fill is made from the photo itself, cover-scaled to the frame and blurred, which is why it reads as depth behind the picture rather than as a coloured border. Blur sets how soft it is, as a fraction of the frame so a small photo and a huge one look the same; at zero the bars show the enlarged photo sharp. Darken dims the fill so the sharp photo in front stands out, Corners rounds the photo's edges, and Shadow under the photo lifts it off the background like a print on a table. The stage info card lists the frame size and ratio, where the photo sits inside it and the blur in pixels. This is the same fill the square-image and instagram-resize pages use, here with any frame shape and the controls exposed.
Download as JPG for a small file to post or send, PNG for a lossless copy, or WebP for the smallest of the three. A photo that came in as JPG saves as JPG by default; the format menu changes it. The result is fully opaque in every shape, so a blur frame PNG has no see-through corners. The pencil next to the file name renames the download, the copy button puts the framed picture on the clipboard, and on a phone the share button sends it straight to another app.
The photo, the blurred copy and the finished frame are all built on a canvas in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, no account is needed and no server keeps a copy, so a private picture can be framed for a story or a post without leaving your phone or computer.
Choose Story 9:16 under Frame shape. A landscape photo is placed in the middle of a tall frame and the space above and below is filled with its blurred copy. Set Photo size to 100 to let the photo touch the sides of the frame, or a little less for a margin all round, then download and post it as a story or reel.
No. The frame is built around the photo, so the photo keeps every one of its pixels and is never scaled up or down in the file. Only the frame changes size: a 4000 by 3000 photo in a square frame at 90 percent gives a 4444 by 4444 sheet with the photo at its original resolution in the centre.
Darken adds a veil over the blurred fill so the sharp photo in front separates from it; the default is a light touch. Set Darken to zero for a fill in the photo's own brightness, or raise it for a moody, cinematic frame.
No. The photo stays in your browser from the moment you pick it to the moment you save the framed version. Nothing is transferred, stored or seen by anyone else.
