Most converters redraw every image and compress it again. Here a JPG goes into the PDF exactly as it is: the same bytes, no second compression, and a photo taken sideways on a phone still comes out upright. PNG images, screenshots included, go in losslessly, so text stays sharp, and transparent areas show as white paper. WebP and other formats are converted to high-quality JPG once.
A4 and Letter fit each picture on a standard sheet, centred and as large as the margin allows, ready to print. Fit image makes each page exactly the shape of its picture, with no white bands - the best choice for a PDF that is only read on screen. Margin sets the white border: none, small or large. Orientation is automatic by default, so a wide photo gets a landscape page and a tall one a portrait page in the same document; pick Portrait or Landscape to force every page the same way.
Scans of IDs, bank letters and contracts are exactly what people turn into PDFs, and none of them should sit on a stranger's server. Your images are read and the PDF is built on your own device; nothing is uploaded. To go the other way, turn PDF pages back into pictures with PDF to JPG, and to print one large picture across several sheets use Tiled Printing.

No. A JPG is placed into the PDF unchanged, so the picture in the PDF is byte for byte the photo you selected. PNG images are stored losslessly too. Only formats a PDF cannot hold directly, such as WebP, are converted to a high-quality JPG first.
