Drop a picture and its colours invert at once: black becomes white, blue becomes orange, every value flipped to its opposite. That is the classic colour inverter, or colour reverser, and it is the default here, but the page offers two more inversions that the usual tool cannot do. Colour inverted pictures and images are a look of their own - a negative of a landscape, a night-for-day city, a logo flipped for a dark background - and the sliders let you stop anywhere short of the full reverse. Amount blends the result with the original, so a half inversion is a slider position rather than a separate trick. Download saves the result at the original size as PNG, JPG or WebP.
Colours is the full negative, and each of the red, green and blue channels can be switched off so only the others invert; inverting one channel gives the striking cross-processed looks, and "invert green" alone is a common ask. Brightness inverts light and dark while keeping every hue where it is: a light screenshot becomes a dark one with the blues still blue, which is what a plain inversion gets wrong when it turns a blue interface orange. Hue swaps every colour for its complement on the colour wheel at the same lightness, so reds become cyans and yellows become blues while the picture keeps its light and shade.
PNG keeps the result exact and keeps transparency; JPG is smaller for photos; WebP is smaller still. Copy puts the inverted picture on the clipboard, and Share sends it to another app on a phone. The i button on the picture shows the size, which channels or property are inverted, and the amount.
The inversion runs in your browser on the pixels in memory, and the file is encoded on your device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is kept.
Every colour value is replaced by its opposite: 255 minus the value in each of red, green and blue. White becomes black, a light sky becomes a dark orange, a photo becomes its negative. Brightness and Hue on this page are the two partial versions of that.
Choose Brightness. Light and dark swap while every hue stays, so blue links stay blue and a red warning stays red. Plain colour inversion would turn the blues orange.
