Mirror image is an online image flipper and mirroring tool: it makes a mirror image of any photo in your browser, no software to install and no account. Pick a picture, choose Flip to reflect it left to right or top to bottom, and download the mirrored copy as PNG, JPG or WebP. It is the quick way to get a mirror image of a photo when a selfie came out reversed, a screenshot of text that reads backwards, or a product photo that has to face the other way on a shop page. The Direction control switches between a horizontal mirror and a vertical one, and the picture on the stage updates as you click, so you always see the result before you save it.
The other two modes turn the mirror into an effect. Side by side places the picture next to its reflection - two copies in a row, three copies with the original in the middle, or a 2 × 2 grid that reflects it outwards into a kaleidoscope. Symmetry keeps one side of the picture and reflects it across an axis you can slide anywhere from 5% to 95%, which is how you make a face or a building perfectly symmetrical or turn a landscape into a reflection in still water. Choose whether the left or the right half survives (top or bottom for a vertical axis), then move the Axis slider and watch the seam travel across the image.
The result downloads as PNG, JPG or WebP from the format menu next to the download button. PNG keeps transparency and every pixel exact, which matters for logos and graphics with clear backgrounds. JPG is the small file for photos, and WebP is smaller still for the web. Side by side results are two, three or four times the size of the original, so a large photo can produce a very large file - the tool caps the output area and tells you when it has scaled a result down. On a phone you can also copy the picture to the clipboard or share it straight into another app.
A mirror image is often a photo of yourself or of someone close to you, and a symmetry experiment tends to be a face. None of it leaves your device. The picture is decoded by your browser, every mode is drawn on a canvas on your own machine, and the download is created there too. There is no upload, no queue and no copy on a server, and the page keeps working with the connection off once it has loaded.
Nothing - a horizontal flip and a mirror image are the same picture. Flip mode reflects the whole image across its middle, so a photo that reads backwards comes out the right way round. The Side by side and Symmetry modes are the mirror effects that go beyond a plain flip.
Choose Symmetry, pick Left or Right to decide which half of the picture is kept, and move the Axis slider until the seam sits where you want it. The kept side is reflected across the axis, and when the axis is off centre the reflection bounces back again so the whole picture stays filled.
Yes. Side by side draws the photo beside its reflection, and it works on any number of images one after another. Two copies gives the classic double image, three copies puts the original between two reflections, and 2 × 2 reflects the picture both ways into a four-part grid. The result is larger than the original by the number of copies.
No. Flip and Side by side copy the pixels exactly, only reversed, and Symmetry copies whole strips of them, so nothing is resampled or blurred. Download as PNG to keep it lossless; JPG and WebP re-encode the picture the way any save in those formats does.
