Press Start camera, allow the camera, and strike a pose: Take photos counts down from three, flashes, and takes four photos in a row with a short pause between them, just like the booth at the mall. The four shots come out as a classic photo strip that looks printed, not pasted together: photo-paper white with a faint paper texture, the photos stacked one under the other with the soft edges, gentle contrast, flash vignette and fine grain of a real booth print, and today's date printed underneath - ready to download or copy. It works with a laptop webcam or a phone's front camera, and Retake starts the camera again if someone blinked. The dots at the bottom of the camera view show which of the four photos is next, and Stop cancels a run halfway.
Layout switches between the tall photo strip and a square-ish 2 x 2 grid that fits better on Instagram or in a message. Filter picks the kind of print: Color like a chemical print, a little warm and soft, Black & white with the deeper contrast and heavier grain of the old booths, or brown-toned Sepia for a vintage strip; the camera preview shows the look before you shoot. Once the strip is made you can change the Frame colour - the paper white, black, pastel, or your party's colour, always with the paper's texture - and write your own Caption: a name, an event, a wedding date or nothing at all. Everything can still be changed after the photos are taken, because the strip is redrawn from the original shots. Timer sets the countdown to 3, 5 or 10 seconds, enough to get a whole group into the picture.
No camera, or already took the pictures? Choose make a strip from your photos below the Start camera button, or drop up to four photos on the page. They fill the strip in the order you picked them, cut to the same 4:3 shape as booth photos; a portrait photo keeps its upper part, where the faces usually are.
The strip downloads as a JPG by default, the easiest file to send and print; PNG keeps it lossless and WebP makes it smaller. It is made for the classic 2 x 6 inch photo strip: print it at actual size and it comes out exactly that big, sharp enough for a photo printer, two strips side by side on a 4 x 6 print. You can also copy it straight to the clipboard or share it from a phone.
The camera feed and the photos stay on your device. The countdown, the shots and the strip all happen in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and the camera turns off as soon as the strip is ready or you leave the page.
Press Start camera and allow camera access, choose a layout and a filter if you like, then press Take photos. After a countdown the booth takes four photos and puts them together into a strip that you can download.
The browser has to be allowed to use the camera: look for the camera icon in the address bar or in the site settings and allow it, then press Start camera again. If another app is using the camera, close it first. Without a camera you can still make a strip from your own photos.
With the front camera or a webcam, yes - the photos come out the way you saw yourself in the preview, like a mirror, which is what a photo booth shows. With a phone's back camera they are not mirrored.
Yes. It uses the front camera by default; the switch button in the corner of the camera view changes to another camera when the device has more than one.
Yes. The layout, the filter, the frame colour and the caption all update the strip straight away. Only a different set of photos needs a retake.
No. The photos are taken, filtered and put together in your browser on your own device, and nothing is sent anywhere.
