This shadow generator and shadow creator drops a soft, realistic shadow behind your image, letting you shade any picture in seconds and lets you shape it in real time. Open a cut-out PNG and the shadow follows the subject's true silhouette, not the rectangle around it, so a product photo, logo or sticker looks like it is floating above the page. Set the blur for a hard contact shadow or a wide ambient one, drag the offset to place the shadow where the light would throw it, dial the opacity from a faint hint of depth to a bold cast, and pick any shadow color. The canvas grows automatically so the blurred, offset shadow is never clipped, and the transparent margin around it is preserved when you download as PNG.
A drop shadow reads best when the subject is already separated from its background. Load a transparent PNG - a packshot, a die-cut sticker, a brand logo, an icon - and the shadow is cast from the shape's alpha channel, hugging every curve and hole. That is the floating look e-commerce product shots, app store screenshots, presentation slides and marketing graphics rely on to give a flat image depth. The result composes straight onto any design because the area around the subject stays transparent.
Four controls do the whole job, and each one is a percentage of the image size rather than a fixed pixel count, so the shadow you see on screen is exactly the shadow you download at full resolution. Blur controls softness: zero is a crisp contact shadow, higher values spread into a diffuse ambient shadow. Offset X and Offset Y move the shadow left, right, up or down - matching positive offsets throw it down and to the right, the natural direction for overhead light. Opacity sets how strong the cast is, and the color swatch takes any hue, from a neutral black shadow to a colored glow. An optional solid background color lets you preview or export the shadow over a flat backdrop instead of transparency.
The shadow is shaped by the image's transparent areas, so this tool is built for cut-out PNGs. A regular photo or a JPG has no transparency, so its whole rectangle is opaque and it casts a rectangular shadow. That is correct behavior, not a bug - it works as a quick box shadow around a photo, but the subject-shaped floating effect needs a PNG with a transparent background. If your photo still has its background, cut it out first, then bring the PNG here.
