This free SVG to PNG converter turns an SVG file into a PNG image in your browser. Open the SVG, or paste SVG code copied from an editor or a web page, choose the size in pixels and press Download PNG. The PNG keeps the file's name, and its transparent background stays transparent. No signup, no watermark, nothing uploaded.
PNG is the format to use when a vector has to become a normal picture: an icon for an app store or a slide, a logo for a document editor that does not take SVG, a sticker, an emoji, a favicon source. If the picture must be a JPG instead, for a form or a printer that asks for one, use /svg-to-jpg/.
An SVG has no fixed pixel size, so the converter lets you choose it. Under Size in pixels it shows the size the file declares at 2x by default. Tap 1x, 2x, 3x or 4x, or type any width or height: the other side follows, so the drawing keeps its proportions.
Each size is drawn fresh from the vector, which is the point of converting from SVG: a 24 pixel icon exported at 1024 pixels wide is as sharp as one drawn at that size, with clean edges and smooth curves, not a small bitmap stretched and blurred. Make one PNG per size you need, for example 1x and 2x for regular and high resolution screens.
The empty parts of the SVG stay transparent in the PNG, shown as a checkerboard in the preview, so the icon or logo sits cleanly on any background. Switch Background colour on to fill them instead, with white or any colour you pick, when the PNG is going somewhere that shows transparency as black.
The converter reads every way an SVG states its size: pixels, millimetres, centimetres, inches, points and em, a viewBox alone, or nothing at all (then it starts at 300 x 150 pixels, as a browser does). Compressed .svgz files open too, and SVG code copied from a web page works even without its namespace line.
A browser draws an SVG file in a closed box: images linked from other files and web fonts are not loaded, so those parts come out empty and text uses a font on your device. A note under the controls tells you when a file links any; embed the images or convert the text to paths in your editor to keep them. Animated SVGs are converted as their first frame. To convert other formats, such as JPG, WebP or AVIF to PNG, use the /converter/.
Icons, logos and illustrations are often work that is not published yet, and SVG files can carry editor comments and hidden layers. Here the SVG is read and drawn by your own browser, never sent to a server, and the PNG is saved straight to your device.
