Create a watermark and put it on your photo in a few seconds with this free watermark maker. It adds a line of text: your name, a copyright sign, your website or a short "Sample" note. Pick an image, type the words into the Watermark text field, and the watermark appears at once in the bottom-right corner, semi-transparent and sized to the picture rather than to your screen. Drag it anywhere on the photo, pull the corner handle to make it bigger or smaller, and turn it with the round handle underneath. Size, Opacity, colour and font sit in the panel next to the image. It works the same on a phone: add a watermark to a photo, save it, and post it straight from the result screen. If you want a logo picture instead of text, use Add Logo to Image.
A single signature in a corner is easy to crop out. Switch to Tiled and the text repeats diagonally over the entire picture, the pattern stock photo sites use on their previews. Angle turns the rows, from flat to steep, and Spacing sets how dense the pattern is, from a light scatter to a tight net that leaves no clean area to cut. Keep the opacity low, around 20 to 35%, and the photo still reads clearly underneath while nobody can reuse it without the mark. This is the quickest way to watermark photos you send to a client for approval, product shots you list for sale, or artwork you share before it is paid for.
The watermark is drawn into the image at its full resolution, so a 12 megapixel photo comes out at 12 megapixels with the text at exactly the size you saw in the preview. Choose PNG for lossless quality, JPG for a small file that uploads anywhere (a photo you add a watermark to as JPG stays a JPG by default), or WebP for the web. You can rename the file before saving, copy the result to the clipboard, or share it directly from your phone.
Photos you watermark are usually the ones you do not want copied yet: unreleased work, client proofs, originals. None of them leave your device here. The picture is opened by your browser, the text is painted onto it on your own computer or phone, and the finished file is saved from memory. There is no upload, no account and no stored copy anywhere.
Most photographers use a copyright sign followed by their name or studio, for example "© Anna Berg Photography", or their website address so a shared copy still leads back to them. For drafts and proofs, a word like "Sample" or "Proof" in the tiled mode makes the purpose obvious.
For a signature in a corner, 40 to 60% opacity is visible without spoiling the picture. For a tiled watermark across the whole photo, go lower, 20 to 35%, because the text covers far more of the image. White text gets a soft dark shadow automatically so it stays readable on bright skies.
Use the Tiled mode. When the text repeats diagonally over the entire image there is no corner to cut away, and removing it would mean repainting most of the photo.
Yes. The editor works in mobile browsers: drag the text with your finger, use the corner and rotate handles to size and turn it, then save or share the result from the same screen.
No. The photo and your watermark text stay on your device; the image is processed in your browser and saved straight from it, so unpublished pictures are never sent anywhere.
