This viewer opens Adobe Illustrator .ai files straight in your browser - no Illustrator license, no trial download, no signup. Select or drop the file and the artwork renders in seconds, exactly as Illustrator would show it. Everything happens on your own device: the file is parsed and drawn locally and is never uploaded to a server, which makes it safe for client work, purchased vector assets and anything else you would rather not hand to a random website.
Illustrator documents often carry several artboards - logo variations, page spreads, icon sets. The viewer lists them all, with a rendered thumbnail per artboard, and switching is one click or an arrow key. The info rows show the document's artboard count, the size of the current artboard in points and millimeters, the file size, the exact Illustrator version that created the file, and the PDF compatibility version it was saved with.
Every .ai file saved by Illustrator 9 or later with "Create PDF Compatible File" checked - which is the default - contains a complete PDF rendition of the artwork alongside Illustrator's own data. The viewer renders that rendition with a full PDF engine, so gradients, transparency and text come out right. Very old EPS-based files from Illustrator 8 and earlier do not carry this data; the viewer detects them and explains the one checkbox that fixes it, instead of failing silently. The rendering engine loads only when you actually open a file, so the page itself stays fast.
The Download button saves the current artboard as a high-resolution image - PNG or WebP with transparency kept, or JPG flattened onto white. That covers the everyday reason people need to open an .ai file in the first place: getting a shareable, viewable image out of it without a design suite - and if converting is the whole errand, AI to PNG is the same engine framed for it. For further conversion the converter picks up from there, and Photoshop documents open the same way in the PSD viewer. More formats open in the other viewers.

Almost always because it is a legacy file from Illustrator 8 or older, or was saved with "Create PDF Compatible File" unchecked. Opening the file in Illustrator once and re-saving with that option checked (it is on by default) fixes it. The viewer tells you which case it detected.
