This is a free online screen recorder that works right in the browser, with nothing to download or install. Click Start recording and the browser opens its own sharing dialog, where you pick what to record: the entire screen, one app window, or a single browser tab. A short countdown gives you time to switch to it, then the recording runs until you click Stop - or until you press the browser's own Stop sharing button. Use it to record a software demo, a bug report for a developer, a lesson or a slide presentation, a video call walkthrough, or the steps of a form you want to show someone.
Two sound sources can go into the recording at once. Microphone records your voice for a narrated tutorial. Tab or system sound records what the computer plays: in Chrome and Edge, tick "Share tab audio" (or "Share system audio" for the whole screen on Windows) in the sharing dialog. Both are mixed into one track. Turn on Webcam bubble to add your face in a round bubble in the corner of the video, the way screen recording apps for video messages do it; drag the bubble on the picture to move it and pick Small, Medium or Large. Pause holds the recording while you get the next window ready, and Resume carries on in the same file. To film only yourself with the camera, use the video recorder; to check the camera and microphone first, try the webcam test; for a single picture of the screen, take a screenshot.
When you stop, the recording plays back right on the page. Download saves it as MP4 in Chrome, Edge and Safari, and as WebM in Firefox, whichever the browser records; the file is exactly what the browser recorded, with no second compression. The video keeps the size of what you shared, up to 2560 pixels on the long side, so text in a recorded window stays readable.
A screen recording can show everything: open email, chat windows, passwords being typed, customer data. Nothing here is uploaded - the picture, the sound and the finished video stay in your browser until you save the file, and screen sharing, the microphone and the webcam all turn off the moment you stop. Recording only one tab or window rather than the entire screen keeps notifications and other apps out of the video.
Click Record your screen, then Start recording. In the browser's dialog, choose Entire screen, Window or Tab and click Share. After the countdown the recording starts; click Stop when you are done, watch it back, and click Download.
Yes. Keep Microphone on to record your voice. For the sound the computer plays, keep Tab or system sound on and tick the share audio box in Chrome's or Edge's sharing dialog. Firefox and Safari share the picture only, so there the recording has your microphone but not the computer's sound.
Yes. Turn on Webcam bubble and your camera appears as a round bubble in the corner of the recording. Drag it anywhere on the picture, before or during the recording, and choose its size.
No. Phones and tablets do not let a web page capture the screen, so this recorder needs a desktop or laptop browser. On a phone, use its built-in screen recording from the quick settings or Control Center, or the video recorder to film with the camera.
No. The recording keeps going until you stop it. It is held in the browser's memory until you download it, so for very long recordings save the file before you start the next one.
No. Screen sharing, the recorder and the video file all stay inside your browser on your own computer. Nothing is sent anywhere, and there is no account or sign-up.
