A scatter plot answers whether two things move together: hours studied and test score, price and sales, height and weight. Each row of the table is one point, with the X value in the first column and the Y value next to it. Add more Y columns to show several groups on the same axes, each in its own colour with its column heading in the legend. Both axes find round steps that fit your numbers, and empty cells are skipped, so groups with different X values can share one table.
Open More options and turn on Trend line to draw the least-squares line of best fit through each group, dashed in the group's colour and spanning the range of its points. It shows the direction and strength of the relationship at a glance. The Values switch prints the Y value above each point.
Copy the columns from Excel or Google Sheets and paste them into the top-left cell of the table, or drop a CSV file on the page. To give every point a size as well, for example population, use the bubble chart maker. When the X axis is a sequence of dates or steps, a line graph reads better. Every type is on the chart maker.
PNG at 2400 pixels wide, a vector SVG or a JPG, with a light, dark or transparent background. Nothing you type is uploaded: the table, the chart and the file you download stay in your browser, there is no sign-up and no watermark.
Open More options and switch on Trend line. A least-squares regression line is drawn for every group with at least two points.
Yes. Put the second set's Y values in a second column; the rows share the X column, and a cell can stay empty where a set has no value.
Always the first column. The label under the X axis is its heading.
